What are Sculptra Injections?

Sculptra is a revolutionary biostimulatory injectable designed to restore your skin’s natural vitality. By stimulating your body’s own collagen production, Sculptra smooths facial wrinkles, tightens skin, and enhances your natural contours. The result? A refreshed, youthful glow that looks and feels beautifully natural. Rediscover radiant, firm skin with Sculptra’s transformative power.

How Do Sculptra Treatments Work?

Sculptra works by activating your body’s natural collagen production. Collagen, a key protein in your skin’s structure, helps maintain elasticity, hydration, and firmness. As we age, collagen production slows down, leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and volume loss. Sculptra gradually rebuilds this essential support system, restoring your skin’s youthful integrity from within.

What Are the Benefits of Biostimulant Injections?

Starting around age 20, we lose about 1% of our collagen each year. Sculptra is the first and only FDA-approved poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) facial injectable specifically designed to combat this loss. Its unique approach offers a variety of benefits:

  • Reduces Fine Lines and Deep Wrinkles: Smooth out those signs of aging naturally.
  • Long-Lasting Results: Enjoy rejuvenated skin for up to two years.
  • Safe and FDA-Approved: Confidence in a proven, effective treatment.
  • Natural Enhancement: Boosts collagen production, improving skin texture and elasticity over time.

With Sculptra, you achieve gradual, subtle enhancements that bring out the best version of you.

Where Can It Be Injected

Sculptra offers long-lasting, natural-looking results by stimulating collagen production, and it can be used in various areas to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours:

  • Cheeks: Correct hollowing and volume loss.
  • Temples: Restore volume to hollow areas.
  • Jawline: Define and sculpt the jawline.
  • Chin: Address wrinkles and improve facial harmony (not suitable for wrinkles around the lips).
  • Nasolabial Folds: Smooth deep creases between the nose and mouth.
  • Marionette Lines: Minimize parentheses-shaped lines around the mouth.

Frequently Asked Questions About
Biostimulant Injections

Wondering if Sculptra® is right for you? Here are answers to common questions about this collagen-stimulating injectable at Refresh Medical.

What is Sculptra® and how is it different from dermal filler?

Sculptra® is a biostimulant injectable that helps your body gradually rebuild collagen for subtle, natural-looking volume and improved skin support. Traditional dermal fillers add volume immediately, while Sculptra works over time to enhance your skin’s underlying structure.

What concerns can Sculptra help improve?

Sculptra is often used to restore facial volume, soften the look of deeper folds, and improve overall facial contour and firmness. It’s especially popular for areas where you want gradual, long-term support rather than instant fullness.

When will I see results?

Sculptra results are gradual. Many clients start to notice changes over several weeks as collagen production increases. Your best results typically develop after completing your recommended series.

How long does Sculptra last?

Results can be long-lasting for many people—often up to 2 years—though every body is different. Your provider will help you plan maintenance based on your goals and response.

How many treatments will I need?

Most clients do a series of treatments (often 2–3 sessions spaced several weeks apart), but the right number depends on your starting point and goals. Your plan at Refresh Medical will be customized to you.

Is there downtime after Sculptra?

Downtime is usually minimal. You may experience temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, or bruising at the injection sites. Most clients return to normal activities the same day.

What is the aftercare for Sculptra?

Your provider will give specific instructions, but a commonly recommended guideline is gentle massage of the treated areas for several days after treatment (often referred to as the “5-5-5 rule”). This helps support even distribution and optimal results.

Can Sculptra be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Sculptra pairs well with treatments like neurotoxins, dermal fillers (in select areas), and skin rejuvenation services when a more comprehensive plan is desired. Your provider can recommend the best combination based on your goals.

Will Sculptra look natural?

That’s the goal. Because results develop gradually, Sculptra is known for subtle, natural-looking improvement—like you’re looking healthier and more refreshed, not “done.”

Is Sculptra safe?

Sculptra has a long history of use and is FDA-approved for specific cosmetic indications. As with any injectable, there are potential risks and side effects, which your provider will review during your consultation.
